A viral social media claim about Virat Kohli seeking chartered flights between India and London ahead of Indian Premier League 2026 has been firmly debunked by the cricketer himself, triggering a wave of reactions online.
The now-deleted post by Instagram page @worldinlast24hrs alleged that Kohli had requested special travel arrangements from Royal Challengers Bengaluru, including flying to London during breaks of more than three days between matches.
“Virat Kohli’s big demands: According to reports, Kohli had asked RCB management for chartered flight access between India and London. If there’s a gap of more than three days between matches, he plans to fly out to London and return just before the next game,” the post read.
Kohli, however, quickly called out the claim via his Instagram story, effectively fact-checking the rumour and shutting it down. He posted the screenshot of the ‘fake claims’ and attached two laughing emojis, refuting and shutting down the rumours.
Following his response, the page issued a clarification, admitting the claim was misleading and based on unverified information. It also stated that the post had originated elsewhere and was not accurate.
The episode quickly went viral, with fans flooding social media with witty reactions.
“News so brutal even Kohli couldn’t resist fact-checking,” one user wrote, while another quipped, “Don’t mess with King Kohli.”
Another X user’s comment read, “That fake news guy will be the happiest guy today despite being exposed.” While someone else wrote, “Kohli be like- Are ye kab hua.?”.
