Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hits maximum sixes in one IPL edition, breaks Chris Gayle’s record

Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now holds the record of hitting maximum sixes in a single season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
During the Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Sooryavanshi surpassed the record of 59 sixes hit by West Indies’ Chris Gayle during the 2012 IPL season. He also became the youngest to score 600 runs in an IPL season.
A staggering 54 per cent of Sooryavanshi’s runs have come from sixes. He boasts of an amazing record—having hit a six every 4.7 balls this season. The left-hander has also openly expressed his desire to become the first batter to score a double century in T20 cricket.
