India slip to 364/5 at tea against Sri Lanka on Day 2 of rain-hit first Test

India lost a string of wickets including Devdutt Padikkal’s to reach 364/5 at tea on a rain-truncated second day of the opening Test against Sri Lanka here on Sunday.
After India resumed on overnight 288 for two, Padikkal missed out on a double century as he was stumped off Prabath Jayasuriya for 167 off 230 balls (15 fours, 1 six).
KL Rahul also missed reaching triple figure mark when he fell for 82 after returning to bat, while the other overnight batter Rishabh Pant was dismissed for 39.
Dhruv Jurel (19) and Ravindra Jadeja (4) were at the crease at tea break. Earlier, incessant rain delayed the play’s start till 2:35pm local time.
