FIFA World Cup 2026: Why did Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘wave’ leave Colombian journalist in tears?

A heartwarming moment featuring Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has gone viral during the FIFA World Cup 2026. Ronaldo was training with the Portugal squad, while members of the media observed from the sidelines.
However, as Ronaldo led the group during one of the exercises, a Colombian journalist watching from pitchside waved at the Portuguese star, and to her surprise, the 41-year-old responded with a smile and waved back.
The reporter — who could not contain her excitement — initially celebrated the interaction with visible elation, however, soon emotions got the best of her and she was later seen wiping away her tears.
The clip quickly spread across social media, with fans praising Ronaldo’s small yet meaningful act.
